Help Us Restore the Socorro Mission

For over three centuries, the Socorro Mission –
La Purísima Concepción has stood as a beacon of resilience, faith, and unity along the historic El Paso Mission Trail. Founded in 1680, it is one of the oldest missions in the United States, representing the enduring legacies of Native, Spanish, and Mexican cultures that shaped our region and our nation.

Restoration Project – Phase II

Today, this cherished landmark is in urgent need of restoration. Time, weather, and age have taken their toll. The roof needs to be modified to remove any moisture from the existing adobe walls. Without immediate action, we risk losing not only a remarkable piece of architecture but also the cultural heritage it embodies.

Your gift will directly support:

  • Structural stabilization of the 1843 adobe church building

  • Conservation of historic artwork, artifacts, and architectural details

  • Accessibility improvements and community enhancements, ensuring the mission continues to serve as a gathering place for all

Our Goal:
$2 Million for Restoration

Through the Socorro Mission Restoration Campaign, we aim to raise $2 million to preserve and protect this sacred site for generations to come. The roof requires invasive repair and modifications to prevent moisture from seeping into the adobe walls.
